Business cards have been on my list for a long time. Thanks to Canva and their business cards section, I finally got some. It has taken me 5 years to get myself business cards. Why? Because if I was going to invest my money into a business card I wanted it to be perfect (okay my version of perfect). So, I designed one, then a few months later, I disliked it and then the process kept happening over and over. Therefore, I had to be 100% sure I wasn’t going to change my mind in order to press print.
Now before this, I personally haven’t purchased prints from Canva although I used them all the time to create designs for my site and social media. But I was excited that I now had the option to use it whenever I needed it. Their price is very affordable for 50 business cards only cost me around 10 dollars. To me, it felt like I won the lottery!
My Design
For my design, I knew that I wanted a city, clouds and water to be represented in some way. IÂ played about with drawings of it and it just didn’t go with what I was imagining plus I love images. When the city meets the water there is something so special about that view so having that as my background really brought my business card altogether.
Back Design
For my back design, I knew my name needed to be big. I wanted it to be able to see even from far away. Plus the font on an angle really made the back pop as much as the front does. I made sure to include my social media handles and have my email. However, the one thing I forgot to include was my website. Thank goodness, it is not different than my site name but I found it so funny that in my leap of faith I forgot to make sure that was included. All well. It still looks great!
Final Thoughts
If you are looking to design your own business cards or posters or want to use their templates to create your own then I strongly recommend using Canva. Like I mentioned before, I used them all the time for my social media and for my site’s graphics. They are the best in my opinion and it is free to use which is pretty awesome if you ask me. I am super excited that I now have business cards and no longer have to write my site name/ website on a post-it note lol.
