Ready for 9 Winter Wedding Food Ideas for your Dream Wedding? If you are deciding to have a winter wedding then you are not alone. As the weather starts getting colder and snow begins to fall. Having your wedding venue surrounded by untouched snow is beautiful. I have such respect for brides who are brave enough to have their wedding in this cold weather season. With that in mind, I thought I would share some ideas to tie your love of winter and your wedding together with winter wedding food ideas.

Winter Wedding Food Ideas:

I know that you’re thinking that your winter theme cake has to just be white with everything white but you don’t have to have it like that. You can get your baker to design you a blue cake with white snowflakes or branches on the cake. You don’t have to limit yourself at all. Just because it is a winter theme it can be creative.

2. Cookie Ideas for Winter Wedding

When thinking about winter wedding treats, you can’t help but think about milk and cookies! Decorated cookies are delicious hand-held treats that can transform into anything from a snowman, snowflakes to classic circle shapes. Lots of flavours to choose from, and guests will enjoy them. Can’t go wrong with cookies (unless they are burnt of course). Here are some awesome cookie shapes and ideas you can incorporate for your winter wedding:

Now I have seen cupcakes with white frosting to make it look like winter with snowflakes, but to really think outside of the box, have you considered a cupcake in a mug? I mean genius right! Having a cupcake in the cup gives your wedding the winter feel of having a warm drink while providing you with a sweet treat. Can you say dessert plus wedding favour? This is such a creative idea for a winter wedding favour! 

Who doesn’t love a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold day? Why not have a mug or a cool travel mug (that also works as wedding favours as well) of hot chocolate for your guest. Create a station for your wedding guests where they can add toppings to customize their cup of hot chocolate. Have fun with it! There are great toppings to choose from such as marshmallows, candy canes, whip cream and caramel drizzle. 

If hot chocolate is not your thing, maybe provide a tea or coffee station as well. The main point of a warm beverage station is to provide something warm for your guests that can keep them toasty.

5. Ice Sculpture

It is so enjoyable to see creative ice sculptures these days. It is amazing to see what people can make with ice like a snowflake or initials of the bride and groom. I have seen ice sculptures of people but this is a winter theme wedding. Now before you say “Shanice why is this in the food category?“, let me say that ice sculptures have come a long way. You longer have to look at the ice melt, but can get your drinks from it. How remarkable is that?

If you are familiar with dunking your chocolate chip cookies in a glass of milk then I am sure that your wedding guest would remember doing the same in their childhood or even right now. What an adorable way to bring back memories and have a shot of milk with a cookie. Additionally, if you are going to have kids at your wedding you could consider giving the little ones a miniature milk container with their warm cookies.

Marshmallows on a stick at your wedding may sound boring to some but it doesn’t have to be! Think about how fun it would be to have marshmallows on a stick heating on a flame then squished between chocolate and a gram cracker. If that sounds very delicious to you then have a smores station at your wedding! It is also a great way for your wedding guests to mingle over the fire. Another option is a fountain of chocolate along with fruits. What? Some people enjoy this during winter too.

Want to bring the snow inside? (not literally but that could save on cost lol) Who says snow cones are just for kids? Everyone from young to well more mature will love the sweet treat of the snow cones. What’s a winter theme wedding without the snow right? Rent a snow cone machine or hire someone to run it to create a grand way to have snow appear during the reception. If you’re going for more of a simple way, try having a waiter walking around with a tray of snow cones. You might want to give them a cooler instead.
