Attention all gamers! Yes, I am talking to you. If you are tired of your gaming room being a complete mess of cables, controllers, and clutter, then you are going to love today’s article.  If you know me then you know I don’t typically talk about gamecore or even ways to organize your gaming equipment in general. The most I have done is play Sims, dance to Zumba and play Wii sports however since getting married to a gamer there had to be some organization in place. That is where I come in.
It is time to organize your gaming equipment! I am more than ready to give you the tools to level up your space and turn it into an organized and functional gaming haven that all your friends will envy. Here are some gamecore organizing ideas (aka gaming room organization ideas) you will love:
Before You Start
Before you start organizing your gaming room or gaming space, it’s important to assess what you already have. This will help you determine the most effective way to organize your space and also help you decide on which game room organization ideas will work best in your space.
Here is what you should do:
- Consider the size of your room,
- Inventory all your gaming accessories, such as the number of controllers, cables, and games.
- Sort your gaming accessories into categories.
- Declutter any gaming items that you no longer need or use
- Remove any items that are broken, outdated, or no longer serve a purpose.
1. Organize your Gaming Consoles or Systems
Whether you have a PS5, Xbox or Nintendo or if you’re like my husband you probably have them all in various generations, you are going to need a system to organize. The more that you have, the more gaming consoles will take up space in your gaming room. Here are a few creative storage solutions for your gaming consoles:
- Place on shelves in an entertainment center
- Utilize your wall space and display them on the wall using wall-mounted or floating shelves.
- Put them on the bookshelf.
- Or have them hidden within an entertainment center.
2. Organize your Game Controllers
Another way to organize your gaming equipment is through your gaming controllers. Your gaming controllers can become so cluttered if not organized right. Think about getting yourself a gaming control organizer that will either showcase all that you have or have a more hidden approach. Here are some ideas:
- Wall-mounted Controller Holder.
- Gaming Controller Stand.
- Controller Charging Station.
- In Drawer Dividers.
- Bin with Lid for Extra Controllers.
- Decorative baskets or bins.
3. Gaming Cord Organization
Organizing your cords are essential in life so you know where to find the cords your need. Therefore there is no surprise that your gaming cords will need some organization too. The last thing you want to do is spend time unravelling cord wires or tripping over cords.
Here are ways to keep your cords tidy:
- Use cable ties or cable clips to bundle and secure cables together.
- Use cable management sleeves or cable raceways to hide and route cables along walls.
- Cable management box or cable management tray.
- Box with Lid.
- Also, don’t forget to label each cable to easily identify the different cables.
4. Video Game Collection Organizing
If you love gaming a lot or even if you are a serious gamer, then I am sure that you will want to impress your friends with your collection of video games. The best way to do this is by displaying your collection in your gaming room!
Here are some cool ways to display and organize your video game collection:
- Put up a wall-mounted video game shelf or display case.
- Sort them by console, genre, or alphabetical order.
- Buy clear plastic game cases to protect and display your games.
- Frame your game covers and create a gallery wall.
5. Gaming Accessories
Your gaming accessories will need some organization as well. It is best to get yourself decorative bins, shelves, and even cabinets to keep your gaming accessories organized. So that you remember where you put these items, I always recommended labeling each storage container. Another way is to get drawer organizers, this is perfect to store smaller items like memory cards and batteries.
6. Comfortable and Ergonomic Gaming Setup
In addition to organizing your gaming accessories, it’s important to lounge comfortably and have an ergonomic gaming setup. The last thing you need is to be uncomfortable during long gaming sessions. Plus there are so many gaming chairs and styles. Look for gaming chairs that:
- Provides proper support for your back and neck.
- Adjustable height and ergonomic features ensure optimal comfort.
- Position your monitor at eye level to prevent neck strain
- Use a wrist rest for added comfort during gaming.
7. Personalizing Your Gaming Room with Decor and Lighting
Yes, the topic is ways to organize your gaming equipment but that doesn’t mean that you can’t be organized and have cool decor and lighting. What I love about gaming rooms is that you can really reflect your personality and gaming style in a way that is much different from a living room or a bedroom. In order to do this, your choice of decor and lighting will provide the ultimate gaming atmosphere. Here are a few ideas you can do to transform your gaming room like a pro:
- Consider using LED strip lights.
- Smart lighting solutions to add colourful and adjustable lighting to your gaming room.
- Gaming-themed posters or artwork with your favourite games or game characters.
- Display cases to showcase gaming collectibles or memorabilia.
Maintenance and Regular Upkeep of Your Organized Gaming Space
Just like any room in your home, in order to keep your gaming space organized, you will need to regularly set aside time each week to dust and clear your gaming accessories. Yes, organize your gaming equipment and keep it a part of your routine.
Also, consider taking a moment each month to declutter, reorganize, and clean your gaming room. To make decluttering effortless, provide a bin within your space dedicated to any items your want to donate that way you don’t end up placing it with the items you want.
