I’ll be honest with you, my balcony has been a sore spot for a while and as much as I had been decluttering and trying to organize this area, I couldn’t figure out what to do with this space until now. It is funny but true, three Toja Grid planters inspired an entire balcony makeover. So instead of dreaming about turning my balcony into an oasis, I took the leap and am excited to share how the Toja Grid wall-mounted planters can help you create a stunning outdoor space right in your own home.
Why Choose Toja Grid Planters?
First things first, let’s talk about why I chose Toja Grid wall-mounted planters. If you are familiar with the Toja Grid brand then you know that they have a DIY Modular Pergola System Kit and hardware providing you with what you need to build/customize your own unique build and so much more. However, as much as I wanted to do something grand and awesome, I just couldn’t fit one on my balcony.
What I could fit are planters! These planters are not only sturdy incredibly but able to be used on the wall of a pergola or a balcony railing. Plus, the modern black design is coated in weather-resistant materials which makes taking care of it a breeze. Not to mention setting up these wall-mounted planters is easy. Here’s my guide to help you get started:
Unpack and Assemble.
Start by unpacking your Toja Grid planters.
What You Need.
Position Your Planters.
Next, place the planters in the desired locations on the balcony. When you are considering the location think about placing them against walls (if you are allowed to) or railings like myself. Of course, each balcony is different on the type of railings you have so decide on the best option for you.
Use Zip Ties to Secure the Planters.
Don’t pull the zip tie completely until you are sure this is the location you want the planter to be. It is best to give yourself some wiggle room in case you want to make some last-minute adjustments.
Cut the Zip Ties.
Once, you have positioned the planters in the right location, pull the zip ties tight to ensure it is secured tightly to the railing. Cut any remaining part of the zip tie that is sticking out so it doesn’t interfere with your flowers or plants.
Fill with Plants or Flowers.
Lastly, for the finishing touches, you get to fill your Toja Grid planters with flowers or plants. Now as you may have already learned I prefer fake or faux flowers based on my past projects. I know that I have one real indoor plant named Eliza but that is all that I can handle so these balcony planters will be filled with fake greenery. Not only is this easier for me to maintain but it remains beautiful.
As I mentioned, I originally didn’t want flowers but the greenery was missing something, therefore, I dug into my wedding bin and snagged the greenery that I used for my wedding ceremony area. The flower reminds me of my grandma because she actually has those real flowers in her garden and uses them to make flower arrangements for events.
Insert Rectangle Styrofoam (Optional)
Final Reveal
Once all the greenery was placed in and arranged in the way that I envisioned, this is what it looked like! I am absolutely obsessed with how it turned out and now the balcony has something to look at when we are sitting down.
I thought about adding in white rocks however because the greenery is so full and lush, I opted out and figured it looks good just as it is.
Final Thoughts.
It can be the simplest thing that can really transform a space. What was a boring railing is now something beautiful to look at when we are sitting out on the balcony. Of course, there is some more work that needs to be done to get my vision to its full potential so you will have to stay tuned for the grand real of my balcony. For now, what do you think about my balcony planters?
