Getting married takes a lot of planning, and sure you’ve dedicated weeks and months to making sure your big day goes well. However, did you spend some time thinking about what to do for the honeymoon as well?

Chances are you have, but you haven’t spent as much time as you should on making sure all the little details are perfect. Do you have the right amount of romance? If you’re already worrying about what you have planned from those questions alone, it’s time to give your plans a little rethink.

Panicking isn’t a good look for the newlyweds, so try and tamper that done as soon as you feel it. Don’t worry, it’ll be easy to do; this post is here to help! If you need some ideas in general about what you can do, or if you need some ideas about what you’ll need to account for on your honeymoon, take a look at some of the points below.

Book as Early as Possible

You may have missed this point, but booking your honeymoon as soon as you get the idea to have one in another country may mean you avoid any disappointments. Yet, getting married during the spring, aka the earliest time of the year, means there won’t be much competition to cope with. Compare that to someone who’s getting married in July and you have a fairly easy ride!

Plenty of deals exist out there, but you can usually only access them if you get in there first. Keep that in mind if you’re thinking about getting married, or if someone has just proposed; just because you have to actually get married first doesn’t mean you can’t start dreaming about life afterward!

Popular spots like France, Italy, and a lot of places in America, will all need you to book early. (Check out https://www.theknot.com/content/best-honeymoon-destinations for more spots). These are traditionally associated with romance, so keep your partner in mind and click the ‘buy tickets’ button as soon as you see it!

Get Packing Now!

Packing is often a tricky thing to cope with, as we usually leave it to the last minute and just throw in all the clothes we get our hands on first. It’s time to get a little more organized! Start your packing now to make sure all your thoughts are in order and you don’t forget those bathroom essentials.

Do you have enough formal clothes to dine out in? Dance around with each other in? Have you packed the swim clothes for pools or a day out at the beach together? Do you have the right pajamas or lingerie to get comfortable in when the days are out?

It might be a good idea to put some clothes in each other’s suitcases just to make sure you always have something to wear in case any accidents or emergencies happen. Similarly, if you don’t pack something you absolutely needed, like those travel straighteners or hygiene products, you can pick up some either at the airport or when you’ve arrived. Yet, this isn’t a saving grace to regularly fall back on!

Hire Out Your Own Home

This is a bit of an alternative idea, but hiring out a house for you to honeymoon in means you’ll be entirely alone with each other! It’s super romantic and perfectly intimate, and it means you get to spend as much or little time as you want around other people. So, when you’re planning a honeymoon abroad, it’d be a good sign to put your new combined finances to good use

Honeymoon holiday homes can range from large villas to small and cozy cottages, and that gives you a lot of variances to work with. Take a look around the web, as this is the best place to find the right solutions for your holiday needs, and contact a travel agent through it. The types of housing depend on where you’re going, and plenty of seasonal or holiday homes are available, so, for example, feel free to check out links like that of https://www.propertyguru.com.sg/singapore-property-resources/singapore-condo-guides/executive-condominiums-in-singapore. When you have expansive websites on your side, you’re guaranteed to find something that ticks all of your boxes!

Quick Check: Will You Need a Visa?

You’re not living in the country of course, but that’s often a misconception people have about traveling. Your passport counts towards a lot of different needs, such as business trips and regular holidays. So, if you’re visa isn’t correct or has some misinformation about it (such as your maiden name, if you changed it…), it might be a bit difficult for you to get to your destination.

Some countries do still require this of you if you want to honeymoon there, but mostly, passports can be a tricky business. Getting the name changed on your passport to your new married name can be done about 3 months in advance, but this means it is post-dated. And some countries won’t be open to letting you in with one of those! Always check the entry requirements for anywhere you think you’d want to go together and get some expert advice. Travel agents will be up to date on all the proper trends and requirements, so contact them in you’re ever in need.

There’s a lot you have to account for when you’re planning any kind of vacation, but a honeymoon is always a little more special. This is the first time the two of you are going to spend a bit of living time together as a married couple, so let your time away be reflective of your relationship! You can go on strong for years like this.
