Welcome, March! Oh, how I missed you so. Even though I can see snow outside my window, doesn’t mean I will not imagine the warm breeze and green grass that will hopefully soon come. I am a little overly in love because March is filled with such wonderful things, I get older, I can wear a light jacket outside, Spring break (which no longer affects me but the thought of it, is nice) and of course, I can’t forget about Spring cleaning! I hope you have a plan in place this year. If not, allow my popular, free Spring Cleaning Checklist Printable to be a helping hand.
You know what else is helpful? A list of essentials! I like to be green as much as I can so I thought you might want to be green this spring cleaning season. Here is my list of Spring Cleaning Essentials to help you out this year as well as some helpful products out there to keep you cleaning green as well as giving you the well needed helping hand.
For Floors
Also, do research about eco ways to clean the floor. I personally love Honest products, they have an Honest Floor Cleaner that is not only great for cleaning but for everyone overall. If saving money or using less money as possible is your go-to idea than use things you already having in your house.
You would be amazed by about the things in your fridge or pantry that does wonders to your floors. For all my carpet readers, sprinkle some baking soda on your carpet and vacuum it all up.
For Around The House
If your place is anything like my apartment then you know that dust is constantly collecting. I came across this green Microfiber Duster at Reuseit and never thought about getting a green duster until I saw it. It is something I am definitely going to check out.
Of course, with cleaning comes a ton of trash and garbage. Why not replace your garbage bags with Biodegradable Garbage Bags these help a ton and doesn’t cost an extra. I even found some at my local dollar store (Dollarama). These help the environment so much you wouldn’t even believe.
After cleaning vacuuming, dusting and cleaning the floor, spray a little Air + Fabric Freshener. I am in love with Honest’s lavender scent. Very calming! Also, perfect for anyone allergic to perfume.
For Counters & Surfaces
We all have a counter to clean or a surface to wipe down. In our family, our go-to item has alway been paper towels. It is an easy grab and go item to get any cleaning done. If you are thinking green this year. Try another type of paper tower like Bamboo. These are a great substitute and I also found them at my local dollar store as well.
Another item is Sponge Brushes, Sponges & Scouring Pads because you can keep reusing them without throwing them away all the time.
Having a Multi-Surface Cleaner keeps things easy for you while you clean. You don’t want to have to carry a ton of different products to clean the variety of surfaces in your home. You want to have one product that does the most. Any green cleaning product will but what I love the most is baking soda!
For Windows
Cleaning windows can be such a hassle but there is some neat gadget our there to make time cleaning windows less of a bore and more fun! Such as this Window Cleaning Kit with Spray Bottle and Window Wipe that I saw. It is super affordable and so much better, I mean it is a spray and wiper in one.
If you really want to take things to the next level, check out these Window Vacuum with Spray Bottle. Window vacuums are so cool and it helps out a ton especially when you are cleaning the inside windows or living in an apartment.
There are many cleaners out there for windows. If you are looking for a natural cleaner, you should try one from my favorite company Honest Glass + Window Cleaner or you can also use something that is laying around your house like vinegar. Both are great options for cleaning green and natural!
I will be starting my spring cleaning soon , this was great tips.
Thank you, Jessica! Happy cleaning!
