Sibling’s Reading Wall

kids bedroom reading wall

A kids bedroom is not the cleanest places but we are always finding solutions to make life a tad bit easier…right? I know I am for my siblings. I wanted to do a reading wall for my siblings for a while now but tackled a few other problem parts of the bedroom before doing so like giving the top bunk a makeover and creating a bunk bed custom closet.

Now was the time to give my siblings a reading wall. My goal for this wall was one… have a spot for their books that they can reach but my son can’t reach and two… for it to look simple, cute and organized. The wall letters I made last week will help with the cute part of my goal.

How to Make This Project

What do I need… what do I need? For starters I need a BEKVAM spice rack. I have seen all the fun things you can do with this product (like my tv stand…hint…hint) and had to join in with using it for a book shelve.

If you were wondering why I had a screw driver in my last photo its because I completely forgot that IKEA comes with tools already. I must have been tired lol.

Here is all the pieces in the package.

I did the first part already.
After finishing the spice racks, it was time to put nails into the wall to add them up along with the reading wall letters I have created with gift paper then it was all finished. A simple, easy to do reading wall.

Result

It may be a question on why I decided to keep the spice racks simple design might be running through your mind. No I didn’t do anything different to the spice racks because it matched the bunk bed. I focused my pop of colour and creativity towards the wall letters and I am so glad that I did.
Blue… Poka dots = CUTE!
My siblings loves reading good books and I am glad that they have a place to store their books. Now I just have to go through their many many books to see which ones need to be donated, kept and given to my son. However that will be for another day.
I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderful creative week!

Found you at Tip Junkie and think you are doing great! Just one small thing – I hate to tell you but if you are anything like me you would want to know – the letter N is upside down. Love the organizational skills you have and what you are doing for your family. Best of luck.

    1. Your comment made my day Maureen, everyone over here said, 'No Shanice the N is not upside down' but I felt like it was. Thank you for confirming this for me 😀
