Repurposed Above Tv Shelf

Repurposed Above Tv Shelf

Remember when I told you that I had a plan for the extra piece of desk from the my How to Make A Bunk Bed Desk project? I needed to cut the IKEA table top in order to use it as a desk and for it to fit properly. I turned that extra piece into a shelf… well it didn’t need too much work to do that since it was mostly already done for me. But it did need a bracket, screw and nails.

I thought about spray painting it. But I couldn’t decide on a color and then whenever I mention spray painting something I would get the look of  “Not another spray painting project” so for now I decided to keep it simple and white. No spray painting necessary since it was already from a white table.

At first I tried the bracket this way but it didn’t work out.
So I turned it to the other side.
Next all I needed to do was to hammer it into the wall.
I made sure to add my drawing that I did when I was younger.
A nice section for my perfume (so that no little toddler hands get a hold of it)and a bear for security.
Decorative boxes for storage.
I thought another piece of work that I made when I was younger worked well here.
It was a very simple project and later if I am in the mood for a change I could always spray paint it!
I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on TwitterFacebookGoogle+PinterestInstagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderful creative week!

  1. Hi Shanice, You did a great job creating that shelf by yourself. I always need my husband to help me with stuff like that. I stopped by your About Me page and I am an Ontario girl as well. I just want to encourage you as a young Mom and older sister. I pray that you have strength each day to accomplish the things that occur in everyday life. Have a blessed week! Diane
