Sometimes spicing up something doesn’t always turn out the way you expected and I can say that because my idea of giving the Honest Company’s holiday gift Organic Sugar Cookies a spice up, did not turn out at all like how I imaged.
WARNING: Results may vary. Here is my recipe story…
I was excited to see this extra surprise in my Honest Company package… I haven’t ordered in awhile so I am sure that many of you actually got this earlier. Now, I am geared up to start baking. Honestly, I don’t remember ever baking cookies, I remember others baking me cookies but to roll the cookie dough out and get my hands dirty was not a familiar memory of mine.
Who knows maybe when I was younger I was a baking cookie expert… now… well let’s say I am at the baby stage of actually baking cookies. Not the dough, cut, place on a pan then oven kind of dough but they homemade how grandma makes it kind of dough.
What You’ll Need:
Pour the Cookie Mix into the bowl.
Pour Powder
After it’s done, let it cool and enjoy!
Final Thoughts
What should have happened next was gorgeous red cookies but mine however burned. Remember this was my first time making this. Yours, however, will end up being fantastic. Mine is still yummy if you don’t open your eye to the burnt bottom. What I learned about this process is that maybe I should not leave the kitchen and rely solely on a slightly broken timer. Advice for future Shanice baking cookies? Keep an eye out on your cookies. Grab a seat and don’t take your eyes off those bad boys.
These still look good though slightly burnt. I too have the habit of not always watching things in the oven, especially if they're are in there for a few minutes. What's inside the cinnamon heart mix, I've never heard of this before. Diane @ Mrs U Makes.
Oh the cinnamon mix is just red heart cinnamon candies blended in the blender.
These look and sound so good! I"m going to make them tomorrow, Sunday! Thanks! Glad I found you on Fridays Unfolded Party!
Thank you Jody, I hope you continue to stop by 🙂
I love those red hot candies and never would have thought to chopping them up to use them in baking. Thanks for sharing at the This Is How We Roll Link Party on Organized 31.
Your welcome, I notice many things taste great with these candies!
I'm always walking away and forgetting what I have in the oven. And if I go upstairs–I do not hear that darn timer. I think they need to SCREAM at us instead of beep. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us at Merry Monday!
LOL yes I think timers should yell at us or at leave have adjustable volume.
What a unique idea to make cinnamon powder for cookie flavoring! Very clever & I bet yummy! Found you at The Dedicated House
Thank you Beth 🙂 I hope you continue to stop by.
These will be great for Valentines Day. Thank you for the recipe. Happy Valentines Day
Your welcome, Linda! Enjoy!
