Hang a large piece of Art
Although this sounds expensive, this is one of the oldest tricks from the famous designer’s books. You don’t have to buy expensive art pieces – on the contrary, you can easily achieve a glamorous look by printing a photo you can find online and just frame it. Apart from that, an interesting way to add a personal touch is finding your children’s old drawings and turning them into a collage. This is a great way to incorporate family history and it’ll be a great story to tell all your guests. If you feel artistic, buy a big canvas and enjoy creating artwork you can proudly display as the focal point of your room.
Flowers are always welcome
This is a go-big-or-go-home situation and you need to approach it very carefully if you want to really nail this design. Plants have a welcoming appeal and they can do wonders if you place them strategically around the home. Find some interesting flower pots and opt for big and green plants that are suitable for staying indoors all year long. These won’t only be a great aesthetic feature, but also great for your health, so ask your florist for advice. Add a few plants with colorful flowers that can add a pop of color where you don’t expect it, and spread them around the room.
Rearrange the furniture
Use different texture to add depth
Repurpose what you can
There’s no need to buy new furniture when you can repurpose your old pieces and make them look more luxurious than before. Go through your furniture, see what can brighten up your space and what can get a new purpose. Small chairs can be turned into impromptu coffee tables or flower stands, and you can always paint them into a color of your choice. There are many different techniques for painting and refabricating, and you’ll probably find the one that suits you the most.
Before we start redecorating, we need to take budget and time organization into consideration, which is why we tend to forget about tips and trick that are more than welcome in situations like this. It’s all about thinking every step of the process through, and if you manage to do so, you’ll surely be happy with the end results.
