Okay, so this Ikea Hack is not too mind blowing in the transformation but simple that anyone can do. Even doing the smallest things to change something up like furniture can make a huge difference in the end. All you need is spray paint and you are all ready to go.
I bought this dresser on sale during Ikea’s bedroom event so I didn’t have to pay the original cost. I wanted to give my new Ikea BRIMNES dresser a little hint of color or I guess I should say a hint of silver to go along with my bedroom closet reveal.
I got building and normally I am fine with the building but this time, I had a moment where I was all “I can do this… I don’t need any help at all… I got this!” (insert pounding on chest here) until I made a mistake of using the wrong screws for both sides of the drawer. My arms were killing me trying to get the wrong screws in the wrong spot. I felt so defeated then but carried on (with some help of course) It is safe to say that I won’t go pounding my chest again lol.
Once I was finished, I was so happy it was finally over and it looks fantastic!
The next day I took off the handles of the dresser and went to the balcony.
I bought Krylon’s silver and transparent spray paint for around $4.00 (It was on sale at Canadian Tire) However I realized after I didn’t need the transparent one.
I gave it a 15 minute or more dry time and it was ready to go back on my dresser. To avoid fumes from the spray paint I had my bedroom fan blowing on it until I couldn’t smell the fumes anymore.
Placing the handles back onto the dresser drawers was the last step for me and then it was finished!
