Wedding planners as much as they are useful can be costly. Couples time and time again bite the bullet to plan their own wedding without the help of a wedding planner. Why? This can be the reason due to a number of things such as:
You want to make your own wedding items from decor to invitations.Â
You want full control over your wedding planning so that your vision is truly executed your way.
You do not have the extra money for a wedding planner as much as it is a helping hand for you.Â
Are you any of these mentioned?
Wedding planning yourself is not an easy task to do alone however it is possible to do with the right guide and the right team.
Guide
I mention having the right guide because it matters. Without a guide to show you the ropes it feels like you are heading to your destination with no map on how to get there. It can be confusing and frustrating when you don’t have anything to help you. Most couples choose to have a wedding planner, wedding magazines or wedding books to go through. This is very time consuming but it provides you with the information you are seeking.
Team
Your team is your helping hand. Having the right team will give you the help you need in decor or little tasks that you can take off your list. By having a team you are sharing the load and loosening the number of tasks you are carrying. This is fantastic! However, make sure to choose a team you can rely on or else things may not get done as you like.
Duties
Having a team calls some organization. It is all in the matter of giving your team tasks. Assign them little projects or assignments that will give you the helping hand you need. Such as helping with favours or decorating your reception tables. Be considerate when giving out tasks because if you give out too much it will be overwhelming for them.
Checklist
I recommend having a checklist to monitor what you are getting done and what is left to finish. I have some free ones on my site for just about any part of your wedding. It was designed with you in mind. Worth it because it truly gives you a visual to what you are accomplishing.
Calendar
To keep up with the appointments with a vendor it is great to use your calendar or planner. It reminds you of the dates you need to be somewhere. If you are using your phone calendar it is best to have it sync to your computer calendar. That way if something were to happen to your phone all your information is saved.
Final Thoughts
You can plan your wedding without a wedding planner. It takes determination and organization to get there but you got this. All you need is a guide, team who have duties, checklists and calendar you will be all set for your wedding planning adventure.
