Are you getting overwhelmed with your kid’s toys in the living room? Many of us are tripping over toys left, right and center. So, how do you store these kid’s toys? Today I am going to share some awesome ways to keep those toys organized and looking visually cleaner. Yes, I am sharing with you my go-to ways for a stress-free living room. Let’s dive in!
Declutter
Before you can truly start you have to get rid of the clutter. All those toys that the kids are too big for or just don’t play with anymore need to be donated so that another child will have the luxury to play with them. That means you are going to have to go through all the stuff animals and toys deep down in the bins.
Donate Together or Handle it on Your Own
You might have to do this part all on your own. Most younger kids have trouble letting go of toys especially if they know someone else might have it. It really depends on the age of your children. Some parents love having their child help to teach their kids a valuable lesson on giving and some rather handle it on their own. You know your kids best so decide which way is best for your family.
Double-Duty Furniture
Living in an apartment with all my family members and sharing a bedroom with my son, I know all about having furniture that can do more than one thing. I am talking about furniture that has storage in them. Ottomans, bookcases, and entertainment centers that have built-in drawers make fantastic storage that you can rework to make your space less like a playroom and more like a living room.
Decorative Baskets
You can’t go wrong with decorative baskets. Grab ones that go with the style of your living room. It is a win-win situation when kids’ toys start to look like a decorative piece in your living room. Make sure that you have dedicated bins for different types of toys to make it easier for your kids to find what they are looking for.
