Wondering how to organize and manage your time? Well, hold on to your morning coffee because I’m about to WOW you with a little-known fact about organizing your time!
Did you know that organizing is in all aspects of your life without you even realizing it? Think about it, your work is scheduled time and your tv shows were organized at a certain time. Also, commuting to work needs to be scheduled to get to your location on time. Sometimes, we forget to organize our time.
Do you find yourself constantly busy? Your mind racing with endless things you need to do? Living like this is so exhausting! I know! Friend, you need to organize your time. Believe me, it can make a huge impact on your life. Here are ways to organize your time:
1 – Schedule Important Items
Remembering everything all the time can be so hard to do with life being consumed with other things. Therefore, it is so important to write down reminders, put things in your calendar so that you are only having to remember a few important things at a time. This means, do not overbook yourself, watch what you are scheduling and only plan as much as you have time for.
2 – Scheduling Tools
Handymen need tools, bosses need tools and believe me, moms need tools. Regardless of the types we all need, it is still an item to help them. Therefore, you need tools to help you organize your time. Whatever you choose to use, make sure it is easy to access and somewhat in your sight. Here are some tools you can get yourself to help you maintain your schedule:
- A physical calendar on your wall.
- The calendar on your phone, tablet, or computer.
- A planner you hold in your purse.
- Or a combination of them.
3 – Schedule Downtime
Finally, schedule in some downtime. Do you find yourself putting everyone ahead of yourself? Can’t remember the last time you took a bath or shower without a knock on the door? Do you know the last time you slowed down instead of racing to do multiple tasks? If you are nodding your head yes to any of these then you need some downtime.
Our bodies need it and deserve some downtime. Your day is as if you are running for miles and miles for hours. It is a lot on your body. It is mentally and physically exhausting. Workaholics like me who might have trouble detaching will definitely need to work on this. I know I do! But scheduling it into your calendar will help give you that kick in the pants.
How do you incorporate downtime into your busy schedule?
Plan it – You should look at when it is the best time for you to have me time in your week. Do not pick a day where your schedule is jam-packed. Maybe it is when everyone is off to bed and you pick a show for yourself with a glass of wine. Or once a month you treat yourself to a spa day or make Sundays a refuel night.
Reframe from having your personal to-dos tasks as your me-time – Think about a spa, it is there for you to relax, pamper yourself and put your feet up. When thinking about your me-time what are things you would like to do that maybe you used to do before kids to relax and collect your thoughts?
What were those activities? Maybe drinks with your girlfriends, going to see a movie, going out for dinner, or treating yourself to a massage or just have a quiet moment to yourself to collect your thoughts and process today. Now doesn’t that sound like relaxation after all the hard work you do?
