When we get home from a long day at work or its a weekend, we want to stay in a positive home. So how do you naturally increase positivity in your home? That is what we are going to discuss today. It is very important to be able to come home from a stressful day and have relief when you at the front door of your home. The last thing we need is to see the mess left there from last night or simply enter your home that brings in more stress.
Organize Your Home
I don’t know about you but I am not particularly happy when I come home and see a home very messy. The reason why our home tends to feel like it gets messy all the time and that we spend so much time always having to clean is because we are just not organized. So, why not get yourself into the habit of being organized. This will, of course, take some time but it will help you out in the long run.
Once you have your home organized, you will find that cleaning up will be a breeze and you can find everything you need easier. Yes, this is going to make your life so much better. Allow yourself to remove the visual clutter in your life and restore some positivity in your home. To get started, check out my post:Â How To Start Organizing Your Life For Newbies
More Natural Light & Air
One way you can instantly get some positivity in your home is by opening your curtains for some natural sunlight or opening your window for some fresh air. The fact is, we feel better when its a sunny day and have a lighter mood around it. It fuels us not just with vitamin D but also energy. That is why rainy days or cloudy days or just lack of sunlight affect our moods at times and make us feel down. Let the sunshine into your home.
I am all for improving the air of your home. As much as plants are a great go-to got this, some of us just are not plant people. I know because I such at being a plant person and simply forget about them. If this sounds like you, phew I am not alone. So consider having air purification systems in your home to get rid of the allergens, dust, and odours. Also, invest in buying diffusers with essential oils or Himalayan salt lamps.
Essential oils are pretty much my thing now. People are always asking me about what is best for headaches (Peppermint) or when you feel stressed (Lavender) or what one is good for asthma (Eucalyptus). These are also great for diffusing into the air for all types of moods but also some to purify your home. I use the Purification essential oil into my diffuser

Positivity Mindset Decorating
How do you decorate with a positivity mindset? You need to decorate your home with ideas that bring you happiness. Think about adding photographs that bring back fantastic memories, family and friend photos of loved ones who support and love you.
Add some greenery into your home. This can be actual houseplants such succulents for your desk or eucalyptus for your bathroom or if possible have some fresh flowers in your kitchen. Plants help you with having a lack of dry skin, colds, sore throats and dry coughs. If you really don’t like having plants in your home then go for framed posters or pictures you can display along with your painting.
Wood elements. Make sure there is something wood in your home, such as wood floors, countertops, a dining table set or shelving. By adding wood you are providing a calmer atmosphere, uses less energy and reduces your carbon footprint and lowers your cost of heating and cooling your home.
Incorporate colours and patterns. I think adding pops of your favourite colours really do bring joy into your life. There is something about seeing pops of colours that really make your day. I know that I am colour bias and will always get something in my favourite colour almost every time. It can’t be helped. This is the same with favourite prints and fabrics.

More Ideas on Creating a Positive Home
How about our lives, how do we naturally increase positivity into our life?
Slow Down & Unwind
Stop and take things slow. In my article, How to Love The Life, You’re Living Right Now, I talk about how life is constantly moving fast. We are always moving at the speed of light. We walk fast, eat fast, speak fast and drive fast. The focus is to finish everything faster. Everything needs to be better, stronger and you guessed it faster.
Challenge yourself to break the cycle and actually slow down. Take a seat mentally and physically. Allow yourself to actually take a deep breath and relax. Unplug for a while and simply get to know yourself and enjoy what you love.
Admire & Accept Your Life
Sometimes we just buy things and forget to admire them after a while. To increase the positivity in your life is to really admire and simply be grateful for the things that you got. You don’t need to brag about it to others, its no about everyone else, this is about making you happy. Same the admiring for yourself and just be grateful for it.
This can be the same for accepting your life. Remove any feeling of having to compare yourself to someone else’s life or story. We got our own book to write called life. The only thing we can control in your lives is how we view it so let’s look at the brighter sides of your life and not what you don’t have but what you do have and accept your life as it is right now. Who knows your circumstances may change tomorrow but you can still carry this mind frame of accepting your life with you.

Do More to Feel More
Create yourself a dream list or bucket list and get out there. Now is the time to have some fun, not later, not in a year or two but now. I know that the next thing you are going to be thinking about is money because I do the very thing. I’ve made so many excuses in my past to not do anything because I didn’t have enough money. The fact was, I wasn’t putting aside enough money for my dreams and my life experiences.
We all should carve out some time to have some fun. There are inexpensive ways to do so, I personally love using Groupon to find discounted fun activities in my city. I also create fun times at home with having solo movie nights, board game fun with my son or simply going for a walk with my bestie down by the harbourfront to talk. Get out there and try new things!
