Time goes by so quickly. I mean haven’t you thought to yourself, Where did the time all go? There are ways to plan your week ahead of time. I am going to share my secrets to planning the week ahead.
As a mom and blogger planning is necessary. I like to do all my blog week planning on the weekends so that my week is free for other things. But also I feel so much more productive when my main blog things are scheduled for me and my mom life is prepped ahead of time.
Not only does this make my life a little bit easier but things are ready to go for just in case I or my son gets sick and production is at a halt.
So how do I do this? I’m going to show you the best ways to master planning your week ahead of time.
Write You’re Most Important
You need to start with putting down your most important tasks onto a calendar first. By starting with your most important tasks first, you are making those a priority and remember the fact that it is not negotiable. It needs to get done.
What should you include on your list? Appointments of any kind for self and for family. This could mean doctors or dentist or more. You don’t want to miss these on your schedule because sometimes having to reschedule these can be a hassle.
It is always best to add in some self-care to your schedule. This could mean working out or meal prep or meditation. Any tasks that you need to get done that also benefits your mental or physical health. This includes your sleep and downtime. Make self-care a priority!

Plan Your Top Tasks
Once you have all of your most important tasks into your calendar, now you can see the space you have to add in your top tasks that need to get done for the week. This task doesn’t have to be something that takes the longest or is the hardest to do. You want ones that you need to get done to push forward yourself for the next week.
Why week tasks over per day tasks? We never know what will happen in our days so to have goals or tasks that you need to get done for the week is more realistic than having a ton of tasks per day. This way you can maneuver these top tasks around depending on how your day is.
For me, this would be my blogging schedule. I love to get that done on the weekends on Sundays and set up everything to be scheduled to publish. This way I am not constantly on social media or my blog to click publish during the week. It is a huge relief when I don’t have to be on it so often and can focus on other things.

Add in Everything Else
Now that you have added in the most important and your top tasks for the week, you can add in everything else. Maybe there are some small tasks that you would like to get done this week if there is enough time, you can add them to the spaces that are free. However, make sure that you don’t put too many things. By putting too many things you can get overwhelmed and stressed with your calendar. Think simple and not jampacked.
Review Your Calendar
Take a step back and really look at your calendar. Ask yourself if this is achievable for you? Does looking at your calendar make you feel at ease or completely stressed out? If you are feeling too overwhelmed with your calendar then you should really ask if all this needs to be done this week or can some tasks be done the following week instead.
Think about what you can do on Sunday nights that you would free up some of your time for the rest of the week. This could be, meal prepping for the week or scheduling some tasks that take the longest when the kids are asleep. During school time, Sundays are when I do lunch meal prep for my son, that way it is good to go in the mornings and I am not making is last minute.
What are things you can do in bulk that will help you during the rest of the week?
Handling your Calender
Aim to work form your calendar only. It is so easy to look at your to-do list but remembers you designed your calendar for a reason. You added only what you needed and can do during this time. Don’t overwhelm yourself with the other things on your to-do list, it will be done soon. You may not feel like following your plan, but in reality, we are never going to feel like following our plans completely but once we do it we are happy it is done.
A smart tip is to put all the annoying tasks for Mondays. Most people find it the most horrible day of the week because it is the day we go back to school or back to work after getting to be home for a while. So why not, checkmark the things you dread the most on that day, the rest of the week will thank you for it.
