Winter over here has been mostly cold than snow. Not much on the ground other than frozen grass ground. We occasionally get a dump of snow but before we know it, rain will come and wash it away. IÂ have been drinking more hot chocolate than tobogganing. However, there is not much I can do about it, I mean I know my little man would love to be building a snowman but since there is a lack of snow going around, I figure that I would bring the snow inside over the winter break.
I found this Creatology Pom Pom Kit at Michaels Craft Store for $7.99. Believe me, I was a little shocked to know that this kit did not have anything that picture on the covers says except for the pom poms. It costs a lot for just four pom poms in four different sizes but I bought it with a 50% coupon so that I could feel better about the price.
I also bought these wooden snowflakes cost $2.99 each.
Who says all snowflakes have to be white? I used the Decor Art Metallics (Champagne Gold and Shimmering Silver).
Once the paint dries, it is glue time. I am using Elmer’s Xtreme Glue.
Next, add the largest pom pom to the snowflake. The snowflake is going to act as a base for the snowman.
Once I repeated the same steps, each time adding a smaller pom pom with glue, it ends up looking just like this.
Of course, a snowman is never complete without its accessories. Two carrot noses for $4.99 with a little glue to keep it in place.
Next, I decided to use buttons for the eyes. I did not have black ones but white ones were just as great.
He is the many ways you can make it your own by using a black marker to create buttons, red rope to be used a scarf and finding a very mini hat. The ideas are endless. My little man and  I had so much fun creating our snowmen and painting the snowflake base. It is not every day that we see a snowman flying a snowflake but it is sure very cute to see.
I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Instagram page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderfully creative week!
