It seems like it is gone are the days that brides use binders and books to hold dear all the inspiration for a wedding. You may think that because we are in a tech-friendly environment. However, you as much as some people do love it, there is something about having a book in hand.
You must be wondering what I am going on about since this article is all about creating a Pinterest Wedding Board. Well, my point is that you can still get that wedding binder feeling on your Pinterest board.
Before We Start…
You will need to sign in or create an account. If you haven’t created an account then they make it very simple for you to create on. You can also choose to sign up using your Facebook or Google account.
The Homepage
Once you log in you are going to see a series of suggestion pins you can pin. As much as I would love to pin some of these right now. We have to create a board first. It is located right under the picture location. Click on the top right corner where your name and photo are located.
Your Pinterest Page
With the new page update on Pinterest, you now see an overview of your pins. If you are not you may not actually see anything in this spot. It will tell you to start pinning instead. You are going to first need to click the Boards button.
Here are the Steps to Create your Wedding Board.
1# Create Board
You will see a blank square with a red button with a white plus sign. Click the Create Board button to create a board.
#2 – Choose a Title
A box will pop up. Now, this is the moment when you are going to name this board. Since we are talking about weddings. Are you sure that you want your wedding board to be named ‘Wedding Board’? Well, it doesn’t have to. Come up with some creative ideas to make it personal to you. Don’t worry you don’t have to commit to one, you can change it at any time.
Here are some suggestions.
- Dream Wedding
- My Wedding
- Ultimate Wedding
- My Wedding Plan for this date
- For Mrs & Mr ‘Your New Last Name‘
- Special Day
- Best Day Ever
- Vision Board
You can be inspired by what other people have named their wedding boards. For more Pinterest board names, I recommend that you check out Becky over at The Amazing Becky on her post – Unique, Clever, and Interesting Pinterest Board Names. She has some awesome names you can use! Check it out here.
For this sake, I am going to name this board – Dream Wedding Ideas for My Wedding Someday. Next, Click create.
#3 – Search for your pins.
It will then move you to the explore page where it will give you everything that is currently trending. However, we are focused on your wedding board today so we are going to click the Weddings button.
#4 – Pin a photo.
#5 – Settings – Edit Your Board
There are a few settings you can play around with. Such as you can edit the name of your board in this section just in case you no longer like the name. There is a description section if you want to provide more details. You can give your board a category such as placing it into the wedding category. Another great thing you can do is give your board a cover photo. You can also use in this section to make your board private (aka secret) so no one can see it.
The collaboration section is if you would like to add people to be able to add to your wedding board with their ideas.
#6 – Board Sections
When you are in your wedding board page, you are simply going to click on the Add Section button.
Some other ideas you can do is split your board into sections such as a cake section, ceremony section or a reception section.
#7 – Share
Once you have collected all that you needed it to you can share these inspirations with your family, friends and of course your wedding planner. It is a great way to save yourself from having to carry a book or binder for each session. It also provides an updated vision without the need for glue or scissors.
