If you are in the process of changing things up in your bathroom then, one of the best ways to do so would be to change your towel rack. It is such an easy swap that really changes the space. So, how do you install a bathroom towel rack? That is what we are going to be talking about today but, you need to see the before picture first.
Towel Rack Before
When you have kids, there are chances that something is going to break. As much as we try to prevent it. It happens. I have been trying to avoid changing our towel rack because the other one broke and I was afraid that it would break again. I know, no excuse.
However, no one managed to break the remaining piece of the towel rack so, I have to say this was an accomplishment really. The only downside to this was that my son could never get the hand towel back on and of course, it didn’t look nice in the wall. Things are looking up since we got the QT Home Decor Double Towel Rack. Here is how I installed it.
Supplies
- Towel Rack
- Instructions
- 4 Screws
- 4 Anchors
- 1 Allen Key
Clear the Wall
I made sure to clear the wall first because I didn’t want any of the artwork to fall down. Regardless of if the artwork is glass or not, there are vibrations of the drill or hammer that could cause it to fall. Safety first!
Step 1
You will need to remove the old towel rack. Which for me only meant two screws. Once you take it off, if the new one is smaller or larger than the current rack, you will need to patch the hole and give it a little paint job to hide it.
Step 2
Use the towel rack as your guide to figure out where you want it in the wall. Use a pencil to indicate the spot. Follow the shape of the top and bottom of each side of the towel rack. It is best to use a pencil so that if you were to make a mistake you can simply wipe it off.
Step 3
Once the middle part is out, place it onto the wall where you made your mark. Place it inside of your mark to create your drill indications.
Step 4
Using the pencil mark guide you created, drill a hole large enough to fit your plastic anchor inside; then hammer it in until it is flat.
Step 5
Step 6
Step 7
Once you are done, you can put the rack on top. Make sure that the screw is facing the bottom then you can use the Allen key to tighten it.
Finishing Touches
Find hand towels that match the overall theme of your bathroom. Mine is a beach theme with dark blues and beige sand colours with a kind of seashells art piece.
I decide to go with a blue hand towel on the first rod and a red one on the second one to match the sunset picture I decided to move to that wall.
Final Thoughts
I am loving the new look to the bathroom wall. The double rod towel rack from QT Home Decor works perfectly in this space.
