Not everyone has a backyard. As much as I wish I could walk into my backyard, I don’t have one. This is completely okay. I live in an apartment building so, the closest thing to a backyard is my balcony. It is not as grand as a backyard but, it has an amazing view of the cityscape.
Regardless, you can make it just as fabulous and comfortable with simple decorating techniques. This has inspired today’s post. How to easily decorate a balcony?
Get Seated
You are going to need seating. Sectionals are what I love the most. It gives you the seating you need while still providing you with that backyard lounge feeling. However, depending on your balcony, it can take up a lot of space. Especially if you want to create different sections on your balcony like a bar area or a small barista area to have your morning coffee and breakfast.
Other options to consider is getting smaller seating areas called small conversational sets which includes two chairs and a table. This provides you with the seating you need with a nice area to dine with someone.
Stay Comfortable
Your balcony or patio is just like your home, you want to make it comfortable so that you can stay out there longer. You want to put your feet up to watch Netflix or talk on the phone with your very best friend.
In order for you to enjoy the space, you are going to need a few things, such as a welcome rug for your shoes with an awesome slogan, an outdoor rug for feet, outdoor pillows for decoration and for you to rest your body on, and a throw blanket in case it gets chilly. To add a little sparkle, you are going to need some hanging lights to tie the whole look together.
Cheers Time
Regardless of your drink choice, you can still have a drinking area. To make yours, you are going to need a bar cart. There are many styles out there that will match your decor from wood to glass. Bar carts hold all of your drink supplies, your bottles and, those amazing beverage dispensers.
You can always stick to simple by getting a beverage serving set. Next, you will need a serving tray, find one the matches your style or that has clever slogans on it. It brings a special touch to the tray and can make great conversations starters.
Chic It Up!
Just because you have a view doesn’t mean that you don’t have to decorate your balcony. Use this space to surround yourself with potted plants and greenery.
If you are not into watering your plants or have a black thumb instead of green thumb then, think about getting yourself some imitation plants and flowers. It gives you that chic nature atmosphere while not actually having to water anything. Plus, it lasts you all year long.
