Dear parents, this one is for you and your kid’s artwork. I came up with how to create an easy DIY artwork display frame the best way. One thing that is a pet peeve for me is the idea of displaying kid’s art with tape. Yes, sticking it straight to the wall. It drives me crazy!
I hope I am not alone in this. Therefore, I have decided to create a children’s artwork display board to solve my problem. I know there are many kid’s art frames out there and fun art display ideas, but I think this is a great addition too!

Note: I bought my supplies from Michaels Craft Store and Staples however, I found way better deals on Amazon and would hand down recommend that instead. I proved the links above for you in case you want a better deal.
Step 1
Once you have removed the packaging from the command strips and acrylic frames you are ready to rumble! I choose to use command strips because they are so easy to use. Plus it doesn’t damage the walls when you take them off and that makes it a breeze to move items around on your walls. Sorry if this is starting to sound like an ad, I am just a huge fan and use it all the time.
Peel the back of the command strip.
Then stick it to the side of the frame on each side.
Step 2
Next, you need to peel the other side of the command strip so that we can place it onto the door.
I choose to turn the acrylic frame on the side because I want to be able to use it for documents that go vertical in the future. However, if that is not your style you can get this already made horizontal here:
Acrylic Frame – 11 x 8.5 size.
Make sure to put some pressure on the strips for 30 seconds so that it really sticks to the door.
Step 3
Now is the time to flip the door onto its back.
I made sure to use Command Strips that can support heavy weight because this door is pretty thick.
These picture command strips are the same as the other when it comes to peeling and sticking on. However, these are different because there is velcro, which means you need two. One for the frame (or in my case the door) and one for the wall.
Stick the velcro together before placing it on the wall.
Step 4
Add in your child’s artwork. What I like about these acrylic frames is that we can slip artwork in and out with ease. There is no need to take the frame down or anything. Just slide the old artwork out and the new one in.
Step 5
It is time to place the display board onto the wall. Peel off the back of the velcro Command strips and find a place on your wall.

That is how to create an easy DIY artwork display the best way! I love that I could display children’s artwork with an IKEA door from the as-is section. Believe me, when I first looked at the doors, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
