Wondering how you can create a wonderful gallery wall in a small space with PhotoWall? Then you are in for a treat! If you don’t know who PhotoWall is, it is a company that creates stunningly perfect wallpaper and prints for you that you can choose from their collection or use a photo of your own.
They help you transform your home to reflect your personality and they do an incredible job. Today I am going to discuss how I used their canvas print in my home into a stunning gallery wall.
1. Put Canvas Prints Together
One thing that I love doing is putting things together, from furniture to small items, so obviously I need to document putting this canvas print together. This is the first time that I have done this and what I admire is how easy PhotoWall instructions were to follow.
There were not too many things you need as they provided easy to use items from the wood frame, canvas print to the small screws to put everything together. Â
The first thing you need to do is take off the wrapper that is on the wood frame and place the sticky side on the back of the canvas print right at the edge. Don’t worry if you don’t completely align it right away, because you can take it off and realign if you need too.
Once you are satisfied you need to press down and smooth it out and repeat the process until you have completed all the sides.
Next, screw in the bracket against the frame to tighten everything together.
Once you are done with all the sides, you have successfully completed putting together your canvas print! Voila! It looks just as if you bought it straight off the shelf at the store or taken it off the wall at an art gallery.
2. Hang your Canvas Print on the Wall
Grab your hammers because it is time to hang up your art! You have many ways you can hang it up such as nails and a hammer. However, if you are renting your home or simply do not want to damage your walls you can always use heavy-duty 3M Command Large Picture-Hanging Strips or Command Large Canvas Hangers. My walls are annoyingly concrete so I am using concrete nails and my favourite hammer.
3. Arrange your Wall into a Gallery Style
I used to think that gallery walls meant that everything needed to align on the wall in a not so orderly fashion and there was no system behind it. Boy was I wrong. There is a system.
- Design it! Come up with a design by laying out what you want your gallery wall to look like before you decide to hang it. You can also choose to sketch it out as well.
- Think about your colour palette. What colours do you want to use to make everything pop and pull the look together?
4. Add a statement piece.
When creating a gallery wall in a small space, you need to play around with space on your wall in a way that doesn’t feel overwhelming but also has a statement piece that ties everything together. What is my statement art for my space? I am happy you asked, the one I got from PhotoWall is called Evening Light II. I love the abstract look of this print and the colours mesh well with my bedroom theme.
5. Mix and Match
The theme of my gallery wall is infused inspiration. I love looking up from my computer screen and seeing so many positive vibes to keep me fueled up. That is especially important to me because as a blogger and entrepreneur (aka mompreneur) there as days you just want to give up, but this wall is that little motivation coach that I need sometimes. Therefore I mixed and matched the frames I had that were vertical and horizontal to make it visually appealing.Â
6. Personalize it!
You can never go wrong with personalizing your gallery wall. Add in some personal photos or make your jewelry apart of your art. Since I live in a shared space, my walls are alternate storage space, so I made my jewelry holder apart of my gallery wall as well as my sunglasses holder.
Lastly, I added some greenery, a few flowers and three painted clipboard that holds my monthly budget sheets.
