Honest Super Pads Review

Honest Super Pads Review | City of Creative Dreams

You are about to get up into my business because I am sharing my views about Honest Company super pads. Why? I said I would give it another chance and I did. I still love all the same good sources and ingredients like I have with the regular pads.

It is still lightweight, thin, super absorbent and made with 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton. Also, the pad’s wings are still plant-based and waterproof for leak protection.

What everyone really wants to know is if  I liked this product?

The answer is still not really. It’s the same as the regular pads to me. I did feel more secure for some reason and didn’t have that feeling like it was leaking every second, but it wasn’t. When I walked around, I didn’t notice the sound as much. (I made the comment that it sounded like a plastic bag was following me around with the regular pad.) Could be that I got used to it.

  1. Hi Shanice, I like your objectivity and how you describe the products you test. I am wondering if consumers are really aware about the complex interaction between the safe products they want to buy, and the real impact to the environment. Perhaps even more irritating than the "chemicals" buzzwords, are the references to "organic". With cotton especially, the yield gap between conventional/biotech cotton and organic cotton is around 1/3. That means 3X as much land, water, and fertiliser must be used to grow a single pound of finer, just to be able to call it "organic". Additionally, organic cotton is primarily grown in the most water-scarce areas due to inability to mitigate weed and insect pressure. And most people do not realise that organic can (and it does) use pesticides, as long as they are manufactured from natural sources (e.g pyrethrin neurotoxic insecticides, rotenone pesticides, and copper sulphate fungicides). Many of these compounds have a much lower LD50 than conventional pesticides. In other words, just because something is natural does not mean is safe. Sorry to give you an unsolicited opinion, but I just wanted to fill the educational gap many times not covered by the echo lingo. Congratulations for your Blog!

    1. Thanks Carlos, it is a learning process to know about organic and natural products out there and how they are made. Thank you for sharing these things with me. It is always nice to learn new facts!

  2. There are so many things I wish I knew. Unfortunately it is not easy when companies try to differentiate themselves using confusing and many times exaggerated claims. Like what does it mean for a baby diaper to be gluten free? Are you planning to eat it? Smile

    1. It sounds funny, I can see why they may put that since even though you are not eating it, you are wearing it so if you are allergic to gluten and have it against your skin it will cause a reaction to the child's skin.

  3. I find that hard to believe, but lets keep it open minded. Smile

  4. Keeping an open mind sometimes is so hard to do. We can also say it does not have a very long list of crazy chemicals, even if 99.99% of all other diapers in the market do not have them either. SMILE Please enjoy the rest of your weekend.
