  • Crayon is just another name for pencil in the French language
  • Jacques Conte invented the modern pencil during the French revolution and did this by combining the graphite with clay.
  • The fact why Edwin and Harold invented the crayons is because they loved coloring just as we all did when we were kids.
  • In today’s time, we have progressed a lot and so the crayon is created by many branded companies and there is a wide variety out there to choose from.

How Are These Colorful Sticks Made?

To all the kids out there this is a fun fact that the crayon you use now is just another colored wax. There are hardening powder, paraffin wax, pigment powder in the crayon to make up that amazing combination. It is the hardening powder that makes crayon stiff like a stick. The pigment power is nothing but similar to the colored flour. It is the higher quality pigment that makes the color more bright and intense. For example, if you want red crayon, you can mix red pigment flour in the wax. The paraffin wax makes the color rub off on your coloring page and paper.  Some interesting facts about paraffin wax are:
·         It makes the surfboard slip free as well.
·         These can make a candy shine
·         These are also used in beauty treatment and results in smooth skin for most people
·         These reveal gunshot powder on your trigger hand.
·         This can also melt candles.

The other crayons are charcoal soft and hard clay pastels, water soluble, oil pastels, grease pencils, and so on. These crayons are used by fine artists and glassmakers as well.
