Last time I told you how I made my wedding bouquet, and today I am going to share how I made my DIY bridesmaid bouquets as well. That way you can get ideas for when you create your bridesmaid bouquets. Want to know more about my small wedding to my high school sweetheart? Click here! Here is how I made my diy bridesmaid bouquet.
1. Buy Greenery
There is so much to choose from when you think of greenery but you should choose something that acts as a compliment to your flowers. Some ideas you can use are bay leaves, eucalyptus, and succulents. For my bridesmaid’s wedding bouquet, I wanted it to be the background for my flowers and match the same as my bouquet so I made sure that I bought enough monstera leaves from Aforal.
2. Purchase your Flowers
If you are not getting real flowers like me, then purchasing the right faux flowers is needed and is so fun. If you need a place to start you can check out Shein, Ali Express, Dollarstore and Michaels Craft Store. I bought mine from Ali Express and Micheals.
Keep an eye out for Michael’s sales for flowers and premade bouquets. Every week you can find a floral sale or a fantastic coupon to apply to your purchase. I chose to do a percentage-off sale as it ended up saving me more money in comparison to a buy one get one free deal.
3. Buy a Ribbon
You can find ribbons at Micheals Craft Store or at your local dollar store but if you’re looking to get a lot of ribbons, you can get them from Amazon. I used the same gold ribbon that I used for my bouquet and it arrived very quickly. It was the right size of what I wanted for my bouquet and looked elegant against the green stems.
4. Assemble the Bouquet
After you purchased all that you needed, it’s time to assemble the bouquet. I started with two monstera leaves as my background and added the flowers to be flat against them instead of a traditional round bouquet. The flowers I bought a small bouquet from Michaels.
Then wrapped it with gold ribbon, hiding a small safety pin to seal it and that is it! I was done. You can choose I use a hot glue gun for the ribbon and flowers if you like but mine stayed fine without glue.
Final Thoughts
It turn out even more beautiful than I could imagine and looked amazing with my bridesmaid’s dresses. It’s lightweight so my bridesmaids didn’t feel uncomfortable. Plus I let them keep it as a keepsake so it is now decorated in their home! Tell me what do you think.
