What Brings You Energy or Sparks You Joy?
We all have that one thing or a few things that bring us energy, excitement and in popular terms these days… “sparks us joy”. What does this for you?
For me, everyone always says that I smile brighter and there is a glow on me whenever I talk about organizing or writing or weddings but mostly organizing. It is when you see my passion explode with excitement. I feel happy when I do these things and it is what makes me get up every day. It is something I do not get tired of doing.
So what brings you that out for you? This is a great first step into self-discovery.

Allow Yourself to Go Outside of the Box
One thing about being a perfectionist is that we tend to keep ourselves into a box. Things have to be this way and nothing else but if you allow yourself to expand and not colour within the lines you can start being flexible with your perfectionist ways.
It will be very annoying and even stressful at first but as you keep allowing yourself the more you will start getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Personally for myself, working for myself was exhausting at times because I was so hard on myself. As a perfectionist, I drilled myself to do better, work hard and get it down right. I work endless hours all the time because I want it to be best, my version of best.
Once I allowed myself to start to breathe not be in the perfectionist box, I was able to expand my creative thoughts and expand my brand to higher heights.

Add Meditation To Your Routine
The new thing that I added to my life is meditation. I find I am more open to unexpected changes in the day when I take a moment to sit in peace.
If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it because it’s just 3, 5 or 10 minutes of your life that is dedicated to peace and quiet to be with yourself to just breathe.
I do this as much as I can to let my perfectionist guard down so that I am open to my creativity with any boxes but also it helps me be more comfortable around imperfection.
Find Your Coping Mechanism
We all got a coping mechanism for things like breakups or a bad day. I recommend having at least three coping mechanisms that you can rotate around for any occasion. This way you are not stuck going to one thing all the time. It can sometimes make you feel worse instead of better.
For myself, I have writing, music and dancing. These are my go-to for when I am creatively stuck, sad or in need of a mood booster. It is how I cope with stress and gets me to push through my struggles and barriers.
