If you are looking for a creative way to give your guests tissues for your wedding day ceremony, look no further to my diy wedding tissue labels idea that I made for my wedding day.
I can’t tell you how much fun I had creating these adorable custom tissue labels and the best part is that it didn’t cost much and it didn’t take long to make. If you don’t know already, I had a small wedding on July 16, 2022, to my high school sweetheart. (If you want all of my wedding day details click here)
I originally got this DIY wedding tissue labels idea from my favourite website, you guessed it, Pinterest! The creator of DIY Mini Wedding Tissue Boxes With Cricut created these amazing tissue boxes and I knew that I needed one for my wedding.
Since I haven’t yet received my dream machine. I had to think of another way to achieve this goal but give mine a unique touch. Here is how I made these diy wedding tissue labels (aka tissue stickers):
1. Create a Design on Canva
As you can tell, Canva is my favourite website because you can use it to create just about anything. I used Canva to create a custom size to match the size of Kleenex pocket facial tissues or you can use tissue packets that are at your dollar store as well. I used the measurements they had online but you can measure yours to double-check that the measurements are accurate.
For the colour choice, I used my wedding colours as my inspiration. In Canva, I used the fonts Montserrat and Brittany to create the wording of the design and then signed it by us.
2. Download and Assemble on Word
Once I downloaded it as a JPEG I was able to put it on a Word document. In which I could arrange multiple of my designs on one page. When I do a project that requires multiple items such as this, I tend to put as much as possible on one page in order to use all of the paper and save on the amount of paper I am using as well.
3. Print on Sticker Paper
Next, I put Avery sticker paper that I got from Amazon into my printer and made enough to put on the facial tissues that I had for my guests. I was able to fit about six (6) on a page so I was able to print out fewer sheets.
4. Peel and Stick
Then I cut each of them out. Of course, if you have a circuit machine or silhouette machine, this part will be done for you however since I personally don’t have one, I simply used scissors to cut mine out. I bought my package of facial tissues from my dollar store but you can also get some from Amazon as well.
All you need to do is continue cutting out the individual designs and peel the back to stick them onto the tissue package. Repeat until you have enough. I only placed the stickers onto the front of the tissue packs since adding an additional sticker to the back would cover the opening to take the tissues out.
Final Thoughts
These DIY wedding tissue labels and tissues in general were a hit at our wedding ceremony and definitely needed. At first, my uncle didn’t understand why I put a package of tissues on every chair at the ceremony but when the tears came rolling in from our wedding guests he understood. So instead of placing simple packs of tissues at everyone’s seats, why not make custom tissue stickers to make them stand out? Tell me, what do you think of these?
