Whenever we start heading into spring I can’t help but think about DIY floral arrangements. Today, I’m thrilled to take you on a blooming journey into DIY floral arrangements and centrepieces that I have created. You know that I am no floral artist but I’ve had the joy of crafting vibrant, personalized arrangements that have made my wedding or my home look beautiful.
7 DIY Floral Arrangements On A Budget
1. Spring Floral Arrangement
This spring floral arrangement idea came from someone going to throw away the flower pot. I found some flowers sitting on clearance and decided to take this project on. First I took the flower pot and sprayed it in Krylon Champagne colour. While I waited for that to dry, I began to take off the stems. I used the pot as a measuring guide before spraying it so that I would be able to bend and snap the stems and take off the leaves. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
2. Elegant Wedding Centerpiece
I created this elegant wedding centrepiece as a collaboration project with Shutterfly. My aim for this project was to reflect a barn wedding style that a bride could reuse after the wedding. I loved transporting you into a gold tone, blue accent paired with a natural wood/barn-themed wedding. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
3. Blush Floral Arrangement
Usually pink is not my go-to however this luxurious sophisticated blush colour of pink really intrigued me. I bought these flowers from Michael’s Craft Store’s Blush floral collection during the winter season which explains the sparkle. This could work for any season depending on what your wedding vision is. I created this floral arrangement for a friend who loves pink and think it turned out great. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
4. Simple Ceramic Vase Flower Makeover
For this project, I wanted the gold ceramic vases but it ended up selling out before I got a chance therefore I ended up getting the orange ones and spray-painting them gold. It made a huge difference! The gold vase mixed in with the blue flowers just gives it a more luxurious feel. It could make cute wedding centrepieces for small cocktail tables or arrange them in rows on a long table. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
5. DIY Bridesmaid Wedding Bouquet
When I got married, I knew that I wanted to make my bridesmaid bouquet flowers. It needed to have greenery and a pop of colour. As much as I claim that I am not a pink person, these flowers sure gave me the tropical vibe that I was going for, unlike the blue flowers I was looking at.
For my bridesmaid’s wedding bouquet, I wanted it to be the background for my flowers and match the same as my bouquet so I made sure that I bought enough monstera leaves from the same location. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
6. My DIY Wedding Bouquet
I was so excited to share how I made my wedding bouquet with fake flowers. My bouquet turned out even more beautiful than I have imagined and the best part is that I can keep it forever compared to traditional wedding bouquets. This wedding bouquet checked all the boxes for my wedding theme and it is such a good memory that I can physically hold on to. Check out the full tutorial of how I created this here!
7. Something Borrowed Blooms (Renting Option)
Lastly, I didn’t make these arrangements but I thought I would give you an alternative option if you want a DIY floral arrangement but didn’t want to actually make them. I partnered with Something Borrowed Blooms for my wedding centrepiece flowers. This is perfect for brides who love fake flowers that don’t look fake. It is cheaper than getting real flowers and saves you and your bridesmaids from constructing your flowers.
However, these are not keepsakes but a great rental option. You have so many options to choose from and they can also be scented if you want as well. Check out the full post of how I used these flower arrangements for my wedding here!
Final Thoughts
Creating these DIY floral arrangements has been such a joy! Even though I may not create these using fresh flowers, this is my way to bring a bit of the outdoors into my wedding or home. I hope this roundup inspires you to embark on your own floral adventures, whether it’s crafting a centrepiece for your reception table or wedding bouquets for you and your bridesmaids.
