The simple look
Design doesn’t have to be elaborate. In fact, simple can often be better. It’s elegant, understated, and ultimately stunning. Something like the more understated invitation options from companies like Paper Themes is sure to impress your guests straight away.
Just a simple cream card, or a white option, can have a real elegance about it. And, you can keep this theme going. Opt for an unmarked dress and stunning but straightforward room decorations. Unlike some of the more ambitious options, something like this is sure to create a sense of calm and beauty in an otherwise bustling room.
Say it with spirals
A spiral always works well in wedding designs. From a wedding dress with a curling pattern to an invitation made with rolled paper art, these curvaceous designs always look good. Spiral shapes flow into and around one another seamlessly, as you and your partner do. Hence, they’re the perfect things for weddings. Bear in mind that you don’t want to go too extreme with this; hypnotising your guests isn’t the aim of the game. But, a simple swirling design is sure to look striking. You could even copy the design from your dress onto your invitations if you were stuck for ideas. Nothing like a little continuity! Plus, it’d give guests a little teaser before the big reveal.
Take it back to tradition
There are, of course, a myriad of wedding traditions. From the something borrowed, something new ditty, to the use of colours and lace. These could all be the ideal inspiration for your design. Turning to something everyone recognises is a sure way to keep tradition strong. You could incorporate lace throughout your day. Or, you could turn to the ‘something borrowed…’ tradition, and incorporate different factors of this in every aspect of your day. Your designs wouldn’t match this way, but it’d be a lot of fun for you and your guests. Of course, you’d want to make it clear that’s what you were doing. Otherwise, there’d be much confusion. But, once all your guests are on the same page, they’re sure to enjoy this modern take on an old saying.
Let’s get colourful
Not so long ago, the idea of incorporating bright colours into a wedding was near enough unheard of. But, as times change, so do traditions. Now, it’s much more acceptable to use aspects of colour within your day. This is a sure way to add a burst of fun to proceedings. Guests won’t be able to ignore or forget a bright orange wedding invitation. Understandably, you might want to stick with the tradition of a white dress. But, you could always add a pop of colour elsewhere with a ribbon around your waist, or even in your shoes. And, draping coloured fabrics around your venue is sure to set the place alight. While traditionalists would still turn their nose up, this is your day. Colour could be a fantastic way to incorporate your personality into the event!
It’s all down to you
Even if those ideas don’t suit your tastes, we hope they’ve given you some inspiration of what could work. You could take aspects from each, or go down a different path altogether. For the most part, you need to think about what you like, and how you could incorporate it. Once you’ve worked that out, you’re sure to design a day to remember.
