Bunk Bed Closet

You might be thinking, Bunk Bed Closet? What are you talking about? As you know my siblings share a bedroom (that is three siblings in one room) and so I thought of a design that will give everyone what they need in a way that would hopefully give them some peace and individual style. I already started with my sister’s top bunk where I gave it a complete Top Bunk Makeover.

Next I wanted to tackle the closet situation that my brother has. He shares a closet with two girls… does that give you a picture. The small closet they have not been working out so the idea of having a closet underneath the desk was given to me and I thought that is not a bad idea.

IKEA Trip

I went to IKEA (Oh how I wish I could live in there) and bought the same BYGEL rail that I got for my son’s customized closet but the larger size one since underneath the desk is larger from the shelf of the closet. Next I found four screws and had helpĀ to put the rail up on the desk.

There was no taking down the desk for this so there was arm cramping during the time we were putting up this rail.

Drawer Situation

Next I took the cloth drawer dresser that I used to use for my son and thought it would be a great fit for inside my brother’s closet. However it was very tall so I had to divide it in too. Thankfully I did not have to saw anything, I only had to unscrew a section.

Originally there I had put the storage boxes here that my mom bought from Superstore but, unfortunately, my siblings broke the storage lids (wonder how that happened). Now they are used to hold the drawers up. The middle storage box can still be used for storage and a secret sitting area for those times you want to be alone.

I used the desk holder rail to clip his ties on to and kept the drawer baskets for his undergarments and sock. (Notice the sock section has nothing in it… where do these socks go?)

I think it turned out great. I love that my brother now has his own section for his clothing… no more sharing and we can really know the mystery of which kid makes the clothes mess on the floor (Hint boys generally do… or kids in generally do. You decide.)

I hope you have some time, I would love to hear from you. Leave a comment to say how much you enjoyed my post or even say hi, follow me onĀ Twitter,Ā Facebook,Ā Google+,Ā Pinterest,Ā InstagramĀ page or even subscribe. I will do the same! Have a wonderfully creative week!
