Spring wedding ideas are in the air. Today we are going to talk about the best ways to bring spring colours into your wedding. When I think about spring, I think about bright pops of colour. How about you? Don’t you think about colours like lime greens, oranges, bright blues, pinks and yellows? I know that I am not the only one thinking about the spring season like the ultimate rainbow of colours.
After all, that is when the flowers start to bloom and we get to see a beautiful field of colours. This brings me to this post. I thought I would start this wedding season off on a spring level with colourful wedding inspiration.
The Best Ways to Bring Spring Colours into Your Wedding
Green Wedding Inspiration
Nothing says spring more than some green. If you love the colour green and thinking about incorporating it into your wedding theme then here are some ways to include it without overwhelming your wedding. Fill your wedding with natural greens. I love it when brides put coloured shoes on under their gowns, it adds personality.
Plus who says you can’t do that, it is your day after all. You can keep your cake simple with a touch of green instead of dressing the whole cake in green.
Yellow Wedding Inspiration
Yellow makes you smile most of the time. Having a yellow wedding is great when you balance it out with white or another colour. Even a darker yellow and a bright yellow can make a great accent to your wedding decor.
Try not having the same shade of yellow and only that or else you just may blind your guest with all this yellow. You can add yellow without overwhelming the space like adding rose peddles that are yellow, yellow candies or adding a little to your table décor.
Here is a list of yellow flowers you can consider using from Confetti Daydreams’s article – Names and Types of Yellow Wedding Flowers with Pics + Flower Tips:
- Cymbidium Orchid Flower
- Pincushion
- Tulip
- Cushion Pompon
- Ranunculus
- Craspedia
- Daffodil
- Football Mum
- Gerpom
- Hydrangea
- Rose
- Sunflower
- Yarrow
- Carnation
- Mini Carnations
- Pompon Daisy
- Lily Flower
- Snapdragon
Lastly, of course, let’s not forget that you can incorporate it into your cake too. Either with flowers or with the icing colour, your cake will truly stand out. I mean having a lemon cake doesn’t hurt to have as well!
Who loves pink? As much as it may be too girly for some, these days you can many shades of pink to really suit your day. I mean hot pink isn’t for everyone bu you could go for a light pink, dusty rose pink, pastel pink or even a blush pink. The options are endless. Here is some pink wedding inspiration for you!
I love when brides bring their colour scheme into their food, it just adds flavour, literally. Adding pink lemonade or a signature drink is a fun way to add the colour of your wedding to the food or drinks. Plus, you are using your colour in a unique way that will definitely wow your guests.
Of course, there is always the tradition of adding your colours to the flower arrangements. From roses to my favourite peonies, you can add these flowers to your bridal bouquet and bridesmaid’s bouquet. Sprink pink flowers into your wedding tablescape and rose petals down the aisle.
Lastly, we can’t leave out bridesmaid’s dresses. Seeing your colour standing along beside you will surely make your wedding a sight to see. Even better, add different shades of pink to make an ombre style as they walk down your aisle.
Orange Wedding Inspiration
It is not every day I see brides carry an orange wedding clutch but giving your bridesmaid your wedding colour in a clutch adds your colour especially if you are planning to have them go in a different direction with your colour choice.
If you really want to stand out, have a bright colour on your nails instead of the traditional French manicure style or add little hits of the colour in your design. Nail art has been a very popular trend lately so why not have your nail stand out as well or even just your bridesmaid’s nails.
In addition, you don’t want to forget the groomsmen they need a pop of colour as well. Therefore don’t think only your soon-to-be husband has to wear the wedding colour, simply add a flower or have their ties correspond with your colour.
Blue Wedding Inspiration
Something blue anyone? If you’re taking something blue literally and thinking about adding it to every part of your wedding then add it to any jewellery from head to toe. Now I will try not to be biased about the colour as it is my favourite colour hands down!
For the bride the focused jewellery maybe that new diamond ring but adding grandma’s pearls or charm to your bouquet of flowers is always something special to everyone. Traditional brides have their flowers in more neutral tones but liven it up with colour, all eyes are on you anyway so add a stand-out colour along with you as your walk down the aisle.
Also, think about having your reception dress or bridesmaid dresses to have the colour in that shade too. You don’t have to have a full blue dress but take note of other fabrics and textiles out there that match your theme as well. Your groom or groomsmen would look amazing in a navy blue or royal blue tuxedo. I can see it now!
However, if you want to add colour in a more hidden way, you can always have a coloured garter that only your partner will be able to find.
