I heard about and saw this I am Brave and Beautiful movement that other bloggers were doing. I wanted to join in. I came across the post from Whipperberry and then emailed Brassy Apple to see if I could join. Everyone can join in case you were wondering. I was just talking about self-esteem not too long ago with my DIY BeaUtiFUL Collage Mirror. That feeling of being beautiful is something that I know many people all struggle with…yes… even me too.
At first, I thought. Oh boy, I haven’t worn make up in a very long time. But there are different versions of makeup to me. It doesn’t have to be eye shadow, eyeliner, fake lashes, bronzer, foundation or whatever else we use. Everyone has their own kind of makeup, it can be necklaces, rings, earrings or nail polish, or sunglasses, or glasses or even plucked eyebrows that we chose for ourselves as our make up.
Something we wear to make us feel beautiful. Mine these past years have been my hoop earrings… I love my hoop earrings. In high school, it was gold eye shadow, powder (that didn’t really make too much of a difference), clear lip gloss and… you guessed it… my hoop earrings that seem to keep getting bigger and bigger throughout the years.
Since I’ve had my son, I have only kept my love of not too small, not too big hoop earrings. I also put my hair up a lot. Ponytails! If my hair wasn’t straightened then it was always up and that is still the case now.
But today I am going to be Brave and Beautiful. I just took these pictures today. No editing, no earrings, no makeup and yes, that includes no ponytail. Just natural me.

Aww thank you Mindi. Your are beautiful too!
You are just gorgeous. I love to blast mary j. "take me as I am" when I am painting in my studio. I love also Erykah Badu's Clever, but that might not be the actual name of the song. Basically she talks about all her flaws and then says but I'm clever.
Cheers from Italy
Thank you Sette Design. You are beautiful and gorgeous! I don't need a picture to say that. That song by mary j really helped me through some stuff. Love it! I don't think I have heard that Erykah Badu song but I will have to check it out. Thanks for sharing that song with me.
