I am beyond excited to share a few affordable wedding venues you may have not thought about. Why? Because after my exciting article feature – Cheap Wedding Venues: 15 Places to Get Married & Save Loads of Money on the Financially Independent Millennial, I noticed that there are a few wedding venues out there that many couples may have not even thought about.
Usually, I like to take a minute to talk about the wedding budget breakdown, but you are not here for that. The only thing you should know about your wedding venue in regards to your budget is that it takes up an majority of your wedding. I am talking about 50%! So let’s cut down the cost a bit with some wedding venues you have not thought about using.

1. Schools or Colleges
|
Where are all my high school or college sweethearts at? If you are like me and fell in love with each other in the hallways of your school (check out my engagement photos here) then having your wedding at school may be an idea you will want to sign up for.
As much as this may not be for everyone, remember that many schools have a beautiful courtyards or even gardens these days that can bring an extra special touch to your wedding day. Of course, depending on the school, you can even rent out the theatre room, gyms, or dining halls, if they have one.
This is not only for high school or colleges though, this can even be for dance schools as well. My favourite example of using a dance school is from Rachel A. Clingen Wedding & Event Design where their team created an stunning Degas Wedding Creative at National Ballet School in Toronto Canada.
2. Bed & Breakfast
Typically couples choose a hotel venue for their wedding, but have you thought about booking a bed and breakfast for your wedding venue instead. It is a lot cheaper than hosting your wedding a luxury hotel and you get to have your wedding guests and wedding party under the same roof. Doesn’t that sounds sweet!
I think that this is the perfect hotel alternative for couples who are having a smaller wedding. You get many of the same hotel benefits without paying a high cost. You will love how intimate it is and the fact that everything you need it all in the one location. Say goodbye to having to drive to multiple locations for your ceremony and receptions.
Plus you don’t need to hire your own catering, most bed and breakfasts have their catering onsite. Search for one in your location city and test it out the location
3. An Airbnb
If you haven’t heard of this last one, then you are really in for a treat. These days, you can get an Airbnb for a weekend away in another city, a staycation, or even to host guests that are coming to visit you. Apart from renting out your homes for vacation reasons, you can also book one for your wedding. Don’t worry I am talking about a big enough space to hold all of your guests and not a one bedroom suite.
It is not so uncommon to have your wedding at an Airbnb because you have so much variety from mansions for a touch of luxury and castles for those brides who desire a fairytale. As well as beach houses for brides who seek the ocean surroundings or a cabin overlooking the mesmerizing forest.
The Airbnb options are endless. All you need to do is look for one in your city, find one that suits your wedding style, book ahead of time and start getting the wedding planning started!
