Let’s talk about affordable wedding venues out there that you can do that will make your cost significantly lower. It is totally reasonable to not want to break the bank for your wedding. It doesn’t mean that it lacks any love but a desire to have your well-earned money towards things that don’t only last a day. Or you could want to put more money towards your honeymoon or something else at your wedding. Whichever reason you are going with, you still need a venue.
A venue is the main foundation of your wedding. After all, It is where you have your guest, catering, first dance and lifetime memories held. It’s the hub and centrepiece of your wedding. You need a place to store everything and everyone. You need a wedding venue to hold all of your wedding guests but you don’t have all the money in the world.  So let’s talk about affordable wedding venues!
7 Affordable Wedding Venues – Brilliant Ideas Out There
1. Courthouse
The courthouse is the main go-to place for a more affordable and very small wedding ceremony. It houses a max of 5-10 people depending on your city. However, if you wanted a more intimate setting then the courthouse is where you can achieve that. Some courthouses cost money but never the value of what a traditional venue would cost you. Roughly, less than $100 but each city, county, and town are different so make sure you research ahead of time.
Courthouses not only force you to cut down your ceremony guest list but also allows you to save money towards having a just a reception with your guest instead of the ceremony with them.
2. At Home
Sometimes you just want to be at home. There is no more affordable wedding venue than your home. You don’t have to worry about driving to any location. You could have guests or family members bring in food dishes for dinner to your home.
The only downside to having a wedding at home is that there are many people going through your home to use the bathroom or go into the kitchen. It may not be a wise idea if you are in a small home or apartment. However, if your guest is very small then you can always use the backyard.
3. Backyard
Before you go thinking that a backyard can’t be glamorous enough for a backyard wedding then you sure haven’t been on Pinterest. There are so many things you can do to spruce up anyone’s backyard. From renting a company to give your backyard a makeover to creating DIY projects and truly making it your own.
If you have a friend or family member or a large enough backyard to have your wedding and reception that will help your cost greatly. All you really have to do is rent tables, chairs, and décor. Of course, if you are looking for a cheaper way, you can always get chair covers and use the chair provided or fold-up chairs.
4. A Public Park
If you love the outdoors with a beautiful backdrop consider having your wedding at a public park. Now, remember I didn’t say playground, I said a public park or even botanical gardens would be a fantastic spot. This is great for summer or spring weddings.
Have nature as your free décor. No decorator can top nature itself. Have squirrels as your flower girls and birds help you get dressed. Alright, that may be a little too Disney for you but you get my point. You do need to consider the rules and regulations for decorations and music noise levels.
Also, research if you need a permit ahead of time. The thing about public parks is that you really have no control over what happens there or the noise level of others. If you don’t mind the public stopping and staring then you be fine. Plus you have the bonus of taking your photos in the same area without having to transport anywhere.
5. Art Gallery
Surround yourself with colours. Travel within art pieces of pastels, paintings, and 3D statement pieces. If you are a lover of art then why not have your choice of wedding venue at an art gallery. You really do not have to pay for many decors when you are surrounded by all the décor you need. Hand-painted, hand-sculpted and gorgeous.
Now all you really need is food and chairs. Some couples choose art galleries because they desire something unique than the traditional wedding venue style. They want something they remember and at the right price, you can defiantly achieve that.
6. New Venues
Another option you may want to consider is new venues or companies. If you know of or have searched for new places that are opening up in your city you can get a great deal on using their business compared to others places. They want business and crave opportunities that get people to know their place so they will be more than willing to get that with discounts.
Also, sometimes you can score discounts if you offer to have a section at your wedding where they can have their business cards or table to advertise their business.
7. A Boat
Travel on the water with the wind blowing your wedding gown and the city lights are your décor. Having your wedding on a boat is defiantly a great way to escape without really leaving your city. Not only do you have your family friends there but you also have the luxury of having your ceremony and reception all at the same place. It saves you from having to move your guests around and also gives you the chance to have your wedding photos done in the same space. Be sure to have gravel for guests who may get a little seasick.
