5 Things You Should Know About IKEA

5 Things You Should Know About IKEA | City of Creative Dreams

There is something about Ikea that just draws me in. Since small, I have been fascinated with the store and always found myself buying something. These days are not very different at all. I still love Ikea just as much and even more. Of course, you to have a love-hate relationship with IKEA that makes you keep coming back for more. I mean, after all, they have billions of followers for a reason.

1. Affordable Prices

There are many things you can get at a more cheaper rate. Doesn’t always mean that it’s cheaper quality it all depends on the series and makes of certain products there. So you can be sure to start the car and run away with great savings. I know for me that certain dressers were not the best quality from other dressers at Ikea. It’s more of a trial and error for me but most things I have gotten have been fantastic.

2. Build Away

To me building something it great. I love the satisfaction of building my dresser or entertainment centre. However, I don’t like being the only one assigned to it in my family. If you are newer to it, the instructions can be a little tricky. However, with some time, some tears you too can build an Ikea item.

A good trick is to be calm and maybe step away from the project if it is really starting to make your red with anger. Another tip is to work on a carpet, it not only keeps all the pieces together but it is more comfortable for you when you are working on an item.

3. Recreate

Ikea hacks are popular for a reason. You can take an affordable item and change it completely. I have done a few of them myself and love taking one thing and making it something else. It is fun! Especially if you can make the product look more expensive than it is.

Plus you benefit because it is a dull or blah pieces that you gave a whole new life without breaking the bank and in some cases, you don’t even have to use tools. Simple paint change or little-detailed add-ons can really change a product. If you don’t believe me, type in IKEA hack into Pinterest.

4. AS IS Section

My favourite area of IKEA is the as-is section. They are built items that people have returned because they do not like it or it is slightly damaged. So if you do not mind getting a used product at an affordable price then this section is for you. You can even as the employees of that department to reduce the price even lower. Do remember that if you are buying something big to have your vehicle with you.

Also, if you lose a certain nail or tool supplies then this is also a great spot to grab yourself any missing pieces. I know that I have been there to get a few things.

5. Eco- Friendly

IKEA recycles and reuses materials in different products. Upcycling old products help them to limit the use of new raw materials. Which is fantastic because they need to use a ton of trees to produce all this furniture. In fact, some of their furniture is made out of cardboard. Why? It’s eco-friendly, cost-effective, and actually reliable.

You are not going to find a plastic bag when you are at IKEA. You can get yourself a reusable bag to take your things home. Wrap your plates and breakables into brown paper sheets. What I like is that there is a section just across the cash usually in one spot that you can grab yourself a box to use. These are there for you in case you don’t want to buy another bag.

Final Thoughts

If you are a new Ikea shopper then these are defiantly things you should keep in mind. If not, maybe you will now notice a few things you didn’t realize before. Maybe you now have a greater appreciation for this massively popular store. All in all, you are going to have an awesome shopping experience.
