Do you feel up like you are up to your head with things to do as a blogger? I am raising my hand for this one… at least the old me does. I am a mom, I spend most of my days at my full-time job and oh yeah I blog a lot. So where is the time? Can I get an assistant, please? As much as dream of having a few extra arms. It is not realistic in my life. Today we are talking about my life hacks for bloggers that act as great assistants.
4 of the Best Life Hacks for Bloggers Without Assistants
Auto Scheduling Social Media
If you think I have time to sit around Facebook or Instagram or Twitter all day then you must think there are two of me. I actually scheduled all my posts on one day of my weekend and then did not think about it until the next weekend. I use Hootsuite for scheduling my Instagram and Twitter. It is a great way for me to not have to stress about my posts during the week and actually relax a bit after work. I can then focus on my son who has his own homework and getting him ready for school the next day.
Auto Scheduling Pinterest
I pin as a go but I didn’t get where I am which is with a million viewers from pinning once and a while. I have around 1000 pins scheduled for each week using Tailwind. It is fantastic that I can save all the pins as I go and not have to think about them. My favourite is that I can use the service to loop my personal blog pins so that is can keep scheduling automatically. Therefore I make a point to schedule each new post on loop when I pin from my site. Best creation ever!
Dedicated Days
I used to be a blogaholic where I write blog posts five days a week. It simply brought my stress and not the quality of posts I wanted to produce. I was burnt out of creativity. Which was sad because I love writing so much. So, when it comes to writing, write when you can or dedicate a day for it such as when you are on the subway or on a weekend in the morning. These are all great suggestions to get you to a more balanced life.
Scheduling Blog Post
As you can tell just like I mentioned above, scheduling is key to keeping my blog life in check. It does the work for me and lessens my load so it is the same for my blog. Once they are all finished, I have them assigned for the next week through my WordPress and add them to the selected date and time. I make sure that my social media is aligned with the publishing dates so everything works smoothly together.
Final Thoughts
Who needs an assistant when you could get yourself one just through auto scheduling? Those are my life hacks for bloggers, don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t solve everything however it sure does help in more ways than one. It is my powerhouse, assistant and more all rolled in one. It makes this site just as I need it and provides me with extra time to spend time with my son as well as get to work on other projects around the house.
