3 Impactful Ways to Spruce Up Your Home Décor

3 Impactful Ways to Spruce Up Your Home Décor - City of Creative Dreams

Redecorating your home can take a lot of time and can be very costly. Buying new furniture, picking new colors for your walls and rearranging your garden, can take some time to plan out and execute properly. But what if we tell you that there are ways to quickly refresh your home décor. Ways without having to spend a ton of money on expensive items and accessories.

Luckily, we have prepared tips and advice that focus on that exactly. With our suggestions, you will spruce up your home décor in no time, with little to no money at all. Stick with us and see what we have in store for you, we promise you won’t be disappointed.

Accessorize with Organic Elements

First of all, there is no better way to refresh your living room or bedroom than to insert some organic elements like flowers, plants, and even branches. Instead of buying expensive paintings, clocks, and other accessories, you should fill your rooms with some greenery.

The best way to go about this is to visit a florist and buy flowers that will match your room’s interior. Place them in corners, on cabinets, or you can even hang them from the ceiling, the choice is really up to you. Just don’t over encumber your room. Additionally, if you don’t have the time to take care of plants, you can cut off a small tree branch and place it in a vase. Even though it doesn’t sound particularly creative, the effect it will have on your room will be amazing.

Use Slipcovers

Instead of buying a brand-new furniture set, you can simply use slipcovers to change the look of your couch, sofa or bed. There are plenty of inexpensive slipcovers in all colours and designs, you just need to pick the ones you find most appealing. Even if your sofa is damaged, you can use slipcovers to cover it up and make it look like a completely new piece of furniture. Also, if you don’t want to use slipcovers you should get a couple of pillows with interesting patterns. They will have a similar effect but to a lesser extent.

You can do the same thing in your bedroom. New sheets, pillow casings, and bed covers will give a completely different look to your bedroom. Remember that the interior design is all about small details, you don’t have to paint the wall to change the look of a room.

Give your Table a Makeover

This will require a bit more effort and time, but the end result is worth it. We all have an old garden table or some other piece of furniture that’s made of wood. These items usually deteriorate over time and become unusable. However, there are ways to breathe new life into them without having to spend a fortune.

First, you will need a pencil, drill and some sandpaper. Start by drawing a pattern on a flat surface of your table, cabinet or bed, so you know exactly where to drill. Remember, you can change your pattern as much as you want while drawing, but once you start drilling there is no going back. Once you’re pleased with the pattern you can start drilling. Use drill bits of different shapes and sizes to achieve the desired shape. Once you are finished, you will need to get rid of rough edges by using sandpaper. After you’re done with the sandpaper, cover your furniture with a thin layer of wood polish to protect it from further deterioration.

That brings us to the end. As you can see, you don’t have to spend a fortune to redecorate your house. Of course, there are many other ways you can achieve this, but these three are the most impactful in our opinion. Just remember to be creative and don’t be afraid to change a few things here and there – you’d be amazed how much difference they can make.
