Why do you want to improve the mood of your home naturally? When we have a long day at work or school we instantly go home, however, if you don’t take care of your home, it can go cause your more stress than you need. It could even make you feel in a worse mood. Which we don’t need! Am I right? That is why I thought, I would share with you some natural ways to improve your home’s mood and brighten it up. For one reason and one reason only, you want to feel happy in your home so here is how to achieve that very thing.
Greenery
Consider having some greenery around your home. Flowers of many colors and plants brighten any space. Not only do plants purify the air around you it is also a great way to decorate your space. Lately, the biggest trend is aquatic plants and. I personally love the aquatic plant idea since water is so calming to look at. Also, I don’t have a green thumb when it comes to planting so this way I don’t have to worry about forgetting to water it. If you want some more inspiration, you have to check out this post.
Color
As much as black goes with everything, it is a little hard to be happy in a room with everything simply back. You need to lighten it up and I don’t mean everything has to be white fabrics or furniture but add pops of color. Throw in some hints of colors in your pillow choices, couch, curtains and items that are interchangeable such as placemats, shower curtains, and rugs. Keep things that you will have for a long time in common colors that never go out of style just in case you want a new color later.
Clutter Free
This is one of my favorites, being clutter free is essential because it really does improve your mood when you can find what you are looking for. Have you ever went looking for something and couldn’t find it because well your desk was in a huge mess or your kitchen drawer looked like an explosion of things? Then you have for sure felt the frustration. Save yourself from that problem by being clutter free. If you need some help, I actually put together an article to help you to declutter your home in 5 days.
Air
If plants aren’t your thing you can also consider having air purification systems in your home to get rid of the allergins, dust, and odors. It makes your home a bubble of fresh air away from the toxins and junk that is in your air outside. An awesome trend out there is the Himalayan salt lamps that everyone is obsessed with. Not only are they gorgeous decor pieces but really do purify your space if you buy the real ones.
Final Thought
What you do in your home really does affect your mood. Simple things such as adding plants, colored fabrics or furniture as well as having a clutter-free home will give you that mood boost that we all desire. You should want to walk into your home and simply free great and refreshed after a long day. Try these tips and instantly feel good when you open your door.
I took a pledge at the green living expo with Greenpeace, this year to reduce my plastic in my home and life. I do this anyways but thought to pledge it loud and proud (aka signing my name) really makes it concrete. This is by no means a sponsored post but a company that I think is on the right track to make a difference. Did you know? Every year, up to 12.7 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans. That’s the equivalent of a truckload every minute! Greenpeace is campaigning to stop this, and I’ve pledged to help out in any way I can. Will you join me? Here’s the link.
