Where to start having a natural living lifestyle at home? When embarking on the journey of having a natural living lifestyle, there is no denying that you would want to have your home reflect your lifestyle. It is the number one place you and/or your family are always at, your home. When your heading to or from work or school, it is here you settle your head, have a meal and get ready for a new day. So having your natural life only makes sense to start at the heart of your life. Your home!
Interior
Lately, everyone desires a natural living lifestyle at home. What does that require? Less reliance on electricity and more using natural elements. More sunlight with larger windows is fantastic. You save money on your electricity bill because you won’t be having to flip your light switches on in the daytime.
The sun also brings in positive energy. Plants are another great option. They are not just green decor but provide great quality of air in your home. So, don’t just let them die. Different forms of wood are another way you can bring a natural look to your home. Consider having wood floors, countertops or even a dining table set. These bring a simple earthy natural look to your interior.
Exterior
If you really want a natural exterior you can get a wood cabin! Okay, I may be a little ahead of myself. Yes, that is a great idea if you desire to live in a cabin on the outskirts however city people out there, don’t want to have a log cabin in the middle of the city.
So, how about buying or getting a smaller home for your natural living lifestyle home? Those tiny houses have a nation now. Why go big when you can go small? Build with eco-friendly materials! Other options are to upgrade your current home with solar panels or even create a garden in your backyard. Doing these simple things to your exterior is bring the natural living aspect to your home.
Food
Your fridge is not going to be left out either. Since food companies are not always truthful about what you are buying or what the ingredient really mean, it is good to buy correctly. Keeping a list of foods to avoid doesn’t make stopping easy however buying organic foods, vegan or even your produce from your local farmer’s markets is a great start.
This provides a foundation for hardworking, neighbourhood farmers that have the same view on good quality fresh food. Of course, not all of us have the chance to go out there and get it. Plus you can’t buy everything from farmer’s markets, so be sure you stick to companies that prove that they are a natural products. It is simple to tell by the ingredients listed on the back. If you can understand it then go for it!
Cleaning
Just like considering your food choices, you also need to consider wisely the cleaning products you use. Cleaning products advertise clearly that they are using chemicals yet not clearly stating the dangers it is to us. Only if consumed that it is a danger, however, it affects us even without consuming. We breathe it in when we clean and after we are done cleaning. All those fumes truly do affect us.
Why not try creating your household cleaners with everyday items we already have in the house? You really can do so many things with just vinegar, orange peels, and even baking soda. Just to name a few. If making your own is too much for you, you can always buy natural cleaners who have done all the work for you. Just check out some that I have used right here.
