You know when you are in a store and you figure you will wait for a product to go on sale before buying it? Well, I did that and the gold ones sold out. Don’t you hate when that happens? Well, this time it was fine because I ended up getting this way cheaper than everyone else. I bought these for $3.99 each at Michaels Craft store in 2016, what was nice was because it was orange, no one seemed to want them.
Ceramic Vase Makeover: How to Uplevel your Ceramic Vase with a Makeover
What I love doing is a good colour switch! When someone says “Ugh I don’t like the colour so I am not buying.” it leaves it open to creative people like me to say, “Oh yeah, spray paint here I come!”
The weather is nice and I can finally crack open a spray can. I bought the Krylon gold spray paint it costs around $10.99 but with Michael’s coupons, you can get 50% off.
The Flower Choice
These flowers I got also from Michaels Craft store for 60% of the regular price. At first, I was going to buy the white ones but those ones were not in the best shape and of course, I couldn’t say no to the blue ones.
In order for me to cut the stems off these large flowers, I used bone scissors. I also used the vases as a guide to where I should cut.
Next, is the fun part, placing the flowers into the vase. To really keep the flowers from moving around you can put a piece of styrofoam at the bottom of the ceramic vase and push the stem into it.
The Reveal
What a huge difference! The gold vase mixed in with the blue flowers just gives it a more luxurious feel to it. Who doesn’t love a little gold in their lives? It’s good to try something new, I typically go for more silvers than gold but a girl is allowed to change her mind, and her style once and a while.

Really nice!! Love the shade of blue!! It's true when they say "one man's trash is another man's treasure". You'd never know those vases were orange! I did the same thing with a pair of ceramic bunnies earlier this spring. All I could find was gold, and I wanted silver! BAM! 70% off at JoAnn's and a can of paint! Dona
It is so true, Dona! I am sure that those bunnies looks amazing now. Thanks for sharing that project with me.
